Common questions

Straight answers.

Do testers get paid?
Yes. Testers earn on a per-session basis — typically £4-£10 depending on session length and specialisation. Playtest handles all tester payments; your studio just pays the platform fee.
How fast can I recruit?
Median time from posting a test to first tester confirming: 3.5 hours. Full recruit of 10 testers usually completes within 24 hours for common filter combinations (English-speaking, PC, general genre).
How do you vet testers?
Every tester completes a profile, an onboarding test, and a first session evaluated by our team before they're eligible for paid tests. Ratings from studios feed back into visibility. Testers rated below 3.5/5 stop appearing in the pool.
What if my build leaks?
Every download is watermarked with a per-tester code. Signed NDA on file for every tester. In the two occasions this has happened in three years, we identified the source within 24 hours and permanently removed the tester from the pool.
Can I invite my own testers?
Yes. You can invite people from outside the pool by email — they go through a shortened onboarding and count against your test as external testers. Useful for community members you already trust.
Refunds?
If the test doesn't produce useful feedback (fewer than 60% completing the session, for example), email us and we refund. Full refund on the £1 first test for any reason.

Ten testers. One pound.

Run your first test to see how it feels. If it's not useful, we refund the pound and you keep the feedback.
